The "pick-me-up" Smoothie

There always comes this moment during the day when I feel a little peckish, tired and in great need for a small pick-me-up. I try to switch it up by not always going back to the basic chocolate bars (don't get me wrong - I am a big fan of them though!) and created this chocolatey, silky smoothie where you don't need to have a bad conscience, get lots of good nutrients and your most needed kick of caffeine.

 

For 1 glass you will need:

  • 1 banana (the riper, the better, an extra tip to make the smoothie EVEN creamier: use 1 frozen banana)

  • 1 espresso shot

  • 2 tsp of cocoa powder

  • 2 medjool dates

  • 1 tsp of peanut butter (or any nut butter of your choice)

  • 5 tbsp of milk (or any milk alternative, oat milk is very suitable for this smoothie)

  • 4 ice cubes









First prepare the espresso shot and let it cool down a bit. Then put all the ingredients in a blender and mix it until everything is good incorporated. Add more liquid if it is too thick. Enjoy it while its still cold and I promise you - your sweet tooth will be happy and satisfied.
